Comfort Suites Terre Haute University Area

We’ll stay here whenever we visit Terre Haute. During Thanksgiving week, we found the room clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Gothami was especially pleasant to talk to, had an answer for all my questions, and has a great sense of humor. There’s a small shop at the desk with a range of snacks and drinks at what seem like reasonable prices. The one annoyance was the bed’s steel base. I kept hitting it with my foot, and it made a noise like someone slamming a Dumpster lid.

The hotel itself was comfortable and very nice, but one front desk worker made the whole stay unpleasant. She didn’t welcome us, and seemed unhappy with us simply because we had three children, even though they were respectful, we had no noise complaints, and we were out during the day. By the time we returned, the kids were already asleep. She followed us from the desk to our room, then from the room to our car. It made all of us uncomfortable. When we misplaced a key, she asked, with a clear attitude, “when are you leaving?” instead of simply replacing it. Even my kids felt uneasy. I never complain about hotels, but I’ve never had this kind of problem with a front desk worker before. I urge families with children to think twice before staying here.

The beds were nice, the AC was cold, and the rooms were very clean. Even though the hotel was busy, customer service got us into our room quickly. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The breakfast was okay, nothing special, but the attendant was friendly and polite and kept everything clean and stocked. The room was clean and the TV was a nice size. Nothing fancy overall, and the mattress felt low end. The towels were cheap and rough.
