Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites The Villages by IHG

The location was fine, but this stay was a complete failure. Across nine hotel nights on this trip, seven were at Holiday Inn properties, and this was by far the worst. It cost more than any of the others, even after a partial refund, which left the final price still a little higher than or about the same as the Holiday Inn Express places we used. There was no hot water in the first room, so we had to pack up and move. The second room had no hot water either. The first tub had pubic hair; the second was dirty in the corners and had hair from someone's head. The second room also had a hand towel with crusted food on it, and the sink was dirty. The sheets seemed either unwashed or far past their useful life. Both tubs, the sink, and a used towel left for the next guests were disgusting. There’s no excuse for that.

It’s an older hotel, but the service was nice and the location and value were excellent. The Costa coffee fresh machine was great too. I’d personally prefer a firmer bed.

The bed was comfy and the room was very nice, but finding the place was confusing since it’s right beside a Holiday Inn and there’s no clear sign or overhang showing it’s a second hotel. The front check-in space and breakfast area were both closet-small. More than two people couldn’t fit in either one.

I liked the included breakfast, especially the pancakes made by the machine, which I thought was pretty cool. The staff were polite, but the building’s condition and noise were disappointing and didn’t meet what I expected from a Holiday Inn. The hotel is old and needs renovations. Carpets were badly stained and smelled funky. Even with carpeted floors, I could hear people walking upstairs, and sound carries easily through the three-floor building, so it was hard to relax.
