Adirondack Lodge Old Forge

The friendly staff and no-smoking rule were real pluses for me, since I'm allergic to smoke. But I wouldn't come back because the mattresses were so awful they kept us awake all night and left our backs hurting the next day. The beds were horrible. A hotel should at least have comfortable mattresses. The room was clean and tidy, and the shower was clean with hot enough water, though a little rough. There was no breakfast, and the coffee in the room and office was horrible. The indoor pool was too hot and humid, with a strong chlorine smell and no ventilation. Opening the windows could easily fix that.

We were charged and then denied the stay because of the hotel's 21+ age rule, and they refused to refund us. I see that as money taken for a service we never got. Their policy feels arbitrary and, in my view, non-legal. The staff were incredibly rude when we questioned what felt like scammy practices. This place feels like a trap for taking your cash, not a hotel. Save yourself the financial loss and headache, and book somewhere else.

They rent out a bunch of parking spots for the season, but there isn't enough room for the Snowmbile trailers or for the people actually staying there. We were told to park way down the road. What a joke. If there's no extra room, they shouldn't take on other renters. I'd give zero stars if I could.

We slept comfortably and had no noise problems. I liked that it was just outside the main strip, which made it quieter and easy to get in and out. The decor was cute, everything was clean, and check-in was quick and friendly. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very nice.
