Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel

The hot tub is open around the clock, but the pool wasn't operating, and they seemed to gloss over that. I also couldn't get through to a manager when I called. The bathroom sinks drained very slowly and need attention. At breakfast, the toaster had a worn little sign directing guests to use only its two left slots. My grandsons and I still couldn't make toast without burning it, even at setting 2. Why not replace it? It can't cost more than $50. I'm surprised Best Western keeps this hotel in its franchise.

I canceled my reservations, including through the BW reservation line, but was charged anyway. I tried to get a refund and was refused, even though I never checked into the rooms. The front desk doesn't answer, calls go to voicemail, and nobody returns them. I won't stay at this hotel again, or at any BW hotel.

The pool and outdoor seating areas were a real bonus, and we slept wonderfully in the king bed. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We had been wary after reading reviews, but this ended up being the best stay of our trip. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. The location is fantastic, and the free state park and bison are worth checking out.

The staff were wonderfully accommodating, and it's quick to get to the hot springs. Rooms are a bit dated and small, though the bathrooms have been updated. Since the rooms open onto a shared hall, you can hear neighbors heading out in the morning. Still, it's a good place to stay.
