Best Western Plus Thousand Oaks Inn

I was at the hotel for an event in the ballroom and accidentally left my backpack there. It had a lot of things in it that mattered to me, both personally and financially. I only noticed it was missing after I returned my rental car at LAX and saw it wasn't in the backseat. I called the hotel, and the team had kept it safe and offered to ship it to me. They were incredibly helpful and kept me updated, even while I was panicking. When the backpack arrived home today, I nearly cried with relief. I can't speak to the rooms, but it's a great event venue with top tier service.

The freeway wasn't an issue noise-wise, and the bed was comfortable enough for one night. The room was a decent deal, though the wall beside the bed had what looked like footprints on it. There were also odd brown spots on the sides of the toilet that housekeeping should have cleaned.

The employees were great, and the beds seemed clean. Still, the room felt old and had an odd, almost mildew-like smell, even though I'd booked a non-smoking room. It was okay for one night, but next time I'd probably choose somewhere newer.

The room had a microwave and refrigerator, and the beds were comfortable. The front desk staff were also very nice and friendly. But the place is dated and the rooms cost too much. The jacuzzi stayed out of order for all three days I was there. There were notes all over about conserving water, plus notes asking for tips for the cleaning crew. The shower didn't drain right, so I stood in a puddle while showering. The toilet was crooked, and the carpet had cracks. At breakfast, both the male and female waiters harassed us, so I'd avoid them. The hotel entrance door was out of order for a whole day, leaving everyone to walk around to other doors. I guess that's why they put “plus” on Best Western, lol.
