The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the towels were clean too, but there was mold behind the toilet and carpet unraveling by the bathroom. Also, beware that they don't check anyone in after 9 p.m. My Booking.com reservation never mentioned that, and when the hotel called to tell me the lobby would be closed, I couldn't reach anyone to cancel. I had to rush home, pack, and head out after work so I wouldn't lose my money.

Nobody seems to work here. They take your money, give you a key that opens every room, then leave the property. There are no cleaners, and there are bugs. Keep driving until you get to George West or Beeville. This place is just a money grab.

The whole property looked filthy, and I can't recommend it. Trash was piled up and stinking by the stairs for days, and there was garbage behind the nightstands, with drink stains on the walls. My in-laws stayed five days in June, but housekeeping cleaned their room only once, always with some excuse even though they were supposed to clean daily. On an earlier family stay, there was no toilet paper or towels, the sheets were dirty, and staff couldn't help because housekeeping only worked during the day. Stay across the street if you want somewhere cleaner and more updated.

I spend more nights in places like this than in my own bed, and this one was clean, reasonably priced, and had service beyond what I expected. When I asked for towels, a helpful man told me housekeeping had noticed I was working nights and waited until I left to clean instead of knocking and waking me. I hadn't told the staff I was on night shift, but I leave around 4:15-4:30 every day. If you're in the area, I highly recommend staying here.
