Holiday Inn Express Tiffin by IHG

The breakfast nook was a little awkward, but it worked. This is a decent hotel, set quietly behind a car dealership on the edge of town. Tiffin isn't much of a tourist destination, so the location is good for peace and quiet but not for sightseeing. The bathroom was cleaner than the one at my last hotel, though someone had left an ear-piercing backing on the carpet between the beds. Dust around the mini fridge showed it hadn't been moved to clean, and I found a debit card that wasn't mine beside it. Still, pretty good overall.

I woke up with about 20 bites after staying in Room 327, then developed an allergic reaction later that day. This was my first encounter like this. I always check the bed and surrounding area when I enter a hotel room, and I saw no signs of bedbugs. I stayed here once about a month earlier without a problem. In response to Grace's comments, I was definitely bitten by something; I have pictures of the bites from when I woke up, though no evidence of bedbugs. The allergic reaction came from the bites. We've been IHG members for 37 years, but I'll stay in the Toledo area next time I visit Tiffin.

I'm wheelchair bound, and the staff were very helpful when I needed them. The front desk came to help warm up my room, and later helped me figure out the coffee maker too.

We stayed overnight after visiting the Tiffin Flea Market, which my husband had wanted to see for a couple of years. There are shops and restaurants nearby, and the staff were friendly. I checked carefully for bed critters after reading recent reviews, even using an iron on the bed. It was clean, and the room was decent. The breakfast had a good range: yogurt, bread, potatoes, sausage, gravy, fruit, juice, coffee, and milk. My only complaints were holes in the blackout curtain and stains and lifting tiles on the room and elevator floors. I'd stay again.
