Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Tifton, GA

The staff made us feel like family. Alexandria, Angel, Rebecca, and the cleaning crew were all warm and welcoming. After five nights, we'd met nearly everyone. I wish I could take this whole place with me when I travel. We'll miss them already. The rooms were spotless, the beds incredibly cozy, and we were glad to find a closet. Compared with the other two-star hotels and motels we've used for work lately, there was much more space and everything we needed: plenty of outlets, a mini fridge, and a microwave. The laundry and ice machines worked, and the pool was open every day with no problems. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. This is the kind of hotel I remember from years ago, and it's the only place we'll stay when passing through Tifton.

After a long drive back to Tennessee, I stopped for a few hours of sleep and got room 120 beside the elevator. It made a very loud noise every minute or so. I arrived at 2 a.m. and was too exhausted to get up and complain, so it was a miserable night. They should warn guests about that room and offer another option. Don't accept room 120, and don't pay $140 for it.

The room sizes work well for a family of five or six, and breakfast is free. The receptionist at the front desk was very nice. It's an old hotel, though, and the walls and bathroom could use a thorough cleaning. I'd stay again if I had to, but not for an extended visit.

Ralph, the overnight clerk, was fantastic with my four lively grandchildren, ages 3 to 11. He was helpful, chatted with them as if he'd known them for years, and pointed my son toward convenience stores that stay open late. He handled all four without missing a beat. He deserves a raise. The breakfast attendant was also great with my grandchildren and the other kids there. Breakfast worked for everyone, with eggs and sausage for lower-carb choices, plus waffles, cereal and milk, bananas, juice, Pop-Tarts, toast, bagels, jelly, butter, and cream cheese. It was filling and good. The hotel is child-friendly, and the staff were great. The location just off the interstate was convenient. Our room had towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion, though we brought our own and can't speak to their quality.
