Grand Eagle Ford Lodge & RV Park Tilden by OYO

I’ve been living here for two months and still can’t think of a bad thing to say. The prices are really low, and the place is the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. Everyone is nice, including the owners. The staff are constantly on the move, making sure things run well and going out of their way to help people. I love it here.

For a little over $50 a night, it’s a decent, inexpensive place to stay when you’re in town for work. The room was nicely set up, and the bed was more comfortable than I expected. There’s a mini-fridge, stovetop, oven, microwave, and a small TV with DirecTV, including HBO. The TV has bad sound and feels cheap, but it does the job. The man at the front desk was friendly the whole time. I’d come back for work in this area, as long as you know this isn’t an upscale, spotless hotel. My main issue was the heat on arrival. I checked in at 6 p.m. on an August day, and the room was over 80 degrees because the AC had been turned off. I get why they do that, but after working outside in the sun all day, sitting in a room that hot was miserable. I set the AC to 60 and spent a few hours on the porch, since it was more comfortable outside in Texas in August. It took until about 10 p.m. to cool the room down. Just before midnight it was around 75, warmer than I like but bearable. By morning, though, I was freezing. The AC works, but it takes a while when the room starts off so hot. The next night was better because the maids left it on. This is a fair, cheap option for someone working out of town. Just giving an honest account.

I liked the look of the wooden cabins, so after staying in the metal ones before, I gave them a try. The room turned out to have a full kitchen, which was a nice surprise. I could cook for my husband instead of spending extra on restaurant meals, and we enjoyed our week there. Housekeeping kept things clean, and there was plenty of free stuff to enjoy. The rain had left the roads a bit messy, but they were working on them and said it should be better if I go next week. I trust them. The rooms were comfortable.

I left my clothes on the bed for laundry, and when I came back they were clean and folded neatly in my room. They didn’t charge for this, which was amazing service. I tipped the housekeeper to show my appreciation, but nobody asked me for anything. I’d give the service more than ten stars. Really impressive.
