La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Tinley Park

This was our third stay here during cross-country trips, and we’ll definitely be back. It’s a good stop with our two small dogs, with a grassy area by the parking lot for walking them. The room was clean, and the bed and reclining chair were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. They used to charge $25 for dogs, but now it’s per pet. I don’t think it should matter whether you have one dog or two. It isn’t luxurious, but that’s not what I’d expect at this price. Samosa King is an excellent Indian restaurant within walking distance.

The bathrooms are really small, but the place was decent enough to stay in. The pool area looked like a scene out of Final Destination, though. The lights kept flicking on and off, it didn’t seem clean, and the water looked dirty. That area needs a lot of attention, and fast.

We stayed for two weeks and didn’t get garbage removed, housekeeping, or fresh towels the whole time. The staff were unfriendly, though the common areas were clean. I shared a large twin bed with my adult daughter. I’d bought an air mattress, but there wasn’t room for it in the way the room was set up. The bathroom smelled bad, apparently from black mold on the wall.

There were roaches in the room, and the bed and sheets had visible blood stains. It felt unsanitary and like cleaning and maintenance weren’t priorities. Breakfast was also poor, not fresh, limited, and apparently not prepared properly. The staff were rude and unprofessional when we asked questions or raised concerns, and at checkout they tried to add charges without explaining them properly. This was one of my worst hotel stays. I’d strongly suggest finding somewhere else if you want a clean, comfortable place with respectful service.
