MainStay Suites Tioga

The people who keep this property clean deserve special recognition. They do an amazing job. Ms. Janet is always pleasant, up early getting breakfast ready and setting up the dining area, and her welcoming personality makes the place feel comfortable. Thanks to her and the other staff whose hard work can go unnoticed. They create a great environment for people like me working away from home. This is my favorite hotel. It’s clean and comfortable for oilfield professionals and others, and breakfast starts early for guests with early shifts. The property is well maintained, with grills out back and plenty of laundry facilities on each floor. You can borrow appliances from the front desk, too. It’s a great location for work around the Bakken region. More prosperity, and thanks again for the excellent customer service. 🤝🏾💯 Best Regards.

The Wi-Fi is my main complaint. It only gets 10 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up, which in 2025 is barely enough for basic browsing and light streaming. It also disconnects you every six hours. Staff say it’s for security, which I can somewhat understand, but Hilton and Marriot let you choose how long to stay connected. The room has a king bed, sofa bed, full-size fridge, two-burner electric stove, and overhead microwave oven. There’s a large desk/dining table, a 42-inch TV with DirecTV service, and the shower has strong pressure and heats up instantly. The lighting is cool white at 6000K.

The room was really nice and clean, and the staff were friendly.

We had driven more than 10 hours for a family emergency and told the hotel clearly that we didn’t know how long we’d need to stay. We were assured that was fine. The next day, once we knew our dates, we told the staff and were again told it wouldn’t be a problem because there were plenty of rooms. Then housekeeping came into our room without knocking or permission. After that, hotel staff called to say we had to leave because they were full for the weekend, directly contradicting what they’d told us. They said we could move to the Stanley location, but our family was in Tioga and we needed to be within a minute’s drive, so staying in Tioga was essential. We had to scramble to find somewhere else. When we checked out, other people in the lobby were going through the same thing. They’d paid in full for their stays, then got calls telling them they had to leave with only minutes to find another place. We later learned there was a corporate event booked, which was why people were being made to leave.
