Reelfoot Lake Inn

There’s plenty of grass to wander around or relax on, and nobody bothered us. The motel has a laid-back, no-frills feel, though I was disappointed there was no coffee in the lobby or coffee maker in the room. I like having coffee with breakfast, so that’s why I’m giving the otherwise good service four stars instead of five. Maybe it’s just temporary. There are two convenience stores up the road. This was my second stay, the first was in 2020, and this time I brought my dog. The owner, or check-in manager, was very polite and accommodating when I mentioned it, and the pet fee was reasonable. They do put pets in smoking rooms even if you don’t smoke, though it wasn’t too bad. We got a downstairs room and everything worked. The king bed was quite comfortable for the price. I only wish there’d been a table and chairs, since all there was was a desk and chair against the wall. The pool was closed, which wasn’t a surprise. Some door locks could use an upgrade, and a few interiors could use fresh paint.

I stay here pretty often because the service is always great and the workers are so kind. The rooms are clean and decent, with a fridge, TV, and coffee pot. Being right by the water makes the location perfect. I didn’t check whether the pool was open this time, but I do wonder if they’ll get it going again.

We had a gorgeous view of the eastern sun coming up over the water from our room, which made it a lovely place to rest after fishing. The innkeeper was awesome, polite, and helpful. They gave my elderly dad and me a ground-floor room, so it was easier to get him in and out of the truck. The lake view was great, and you can walk right across to it. I slept comfortably, and I was very pleased with the staff and the help they gave me. Everyone has a different experience, so I’ll leave it at that.
