The big convenience store across the parking lot had firewood, bait, snacks, and plenty more, though everything seemed tourist-priced. We stayed at the AmericInn by Wyndham in Tofte, near Duluth/Superior, for my young niece’s wedding last summer. It’s literally across the street from Lake Superior. Our clean room was a bit small and had a mini fridge with a small freezer. The TV remote was almost wrapped up in a Ziploc bag with no explanation. We noticed the same thing in another family member’s room down the hall, maybe they get sticky. It seemed busy for a motel, and it was nice overall. I’d stay there again if I needed to.

The morning view is beautiful, and breakfast has a good selection. This is our favorite place to stay around Lutsen and Grand Marais, with prices that are hard to beat and just 15 minutes from Grand Marais. The staff are always so nice, and check-in is easy. Trust me, go for the King Suite with the whirlpool.

There’s a bonfire spot, and the pool looks out over the lake, which is great. The place is clean and kept up well, and it’s awesome that pets are allowed. It’s also well placed for hiking and exploring, especially if you’ve got your four-legged buddy along.

Our room was comfortable and quiet, and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is near Lutsen ski area, and the hot breakfast was pretty darn good. We had a great stay.

I travel all the time for work and for fun, and Gabe really stood out for his kindness, service, and down-to-earth personality. He was honestly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. This place is lucky to have him, and I truly appreciated the experience. Thank you, Gabe!
