Scottish Inn and Suites

There were roaches in the bathroom on our first night, crawling on the walls and around the toilet after we turned on the lights. We also saw them in the entrance and lobby. We told the front desk, who said an exterminator would come while we were out, but there were still roaches when we returned the next day. We had booked five days through Expedia, checked out after two nights, and asked for a refund for the remaining three, but they refused. We were visiting for a funeral, and my niece and her husband stopped by around 8 p.m. The front desk called our room as soon as we came in to ask how many people were there. I said family had come over after dinner, and was told visitors weren't allowed, even though they'd only planned to stay a couple of hours. I travel more than a hundred days a year for work and have stayed in dozens of hotels around the country for many years. I've never encountered such disgusting conditions or such poor treatment of guests. The price might look right, but stay away.

Room 118 was awful, dirty, and loud from the stairs. The mattress only had a loose sheet over it, the toilet had a ring like it hadn't been cleaned, and there was someone else's hair on the bathroom floor. The corners were full of dirt and filth, as if the room hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. I asked a woman for a towel; she said she'd bring one but never did. The breakfast was juice and cereal. For what they charge, they should at least keep the rooms clean. I'll avoid this place next time.

I stayed here while my home was being fumigated. The place is clean and comfy, easy to find, and shares a parking lot with pretty good Mexican food. The showers get hot.

Other than the room, which was surprisingly nice for the price, this was a bad experience. I booked through booking.com, and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. She tried to pressure me into paying a $30 smoking deposit even after I told her several times that I don't smoke. We went back and forth for a while until she called someone, who said I didn't need to pay it. I'm almost certain I would never have gotten that deposit back.
