Miyako Hybrid Hotel Torrance

The staff and service are excellent, and the breakfasts are tasty, especially the Japanese-style portions. My big frustration is the terrible WiFi, which has been a problem for years. I’ve stayed here for years under my company contract. Maintenance staff have tried repeatedly to sort out the connection and sometimes even provided rental routers, but it’s still awful. My Google Fi phone also got the worst reception I’ve experienced anywhere in the states I’ve traveled. Please do something about the internet. ;(

I picked this hotel to be near my friend from Japan, and although I’d seen mixed reviews, my stay turned out pretty good. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, and the prices were competitive with other hotels. The whole place had a Japan-like feel, simple and minimal, and incredibly clean. I noticed the clean smell as soon as I reached the elevator. The rooms were immaculate and inviting, and housekeeping left everything pristine each time, with our stuff still there. The beds and comforters were top quality. The bath was my favorite part. I have a bidet at home, and once you use one, you never want to go without it. This one was clean too. After a long day, I’d shower and then soak in the huge tub with nice hot water. It helped me relax and sleep like a baby. I’d heard complaints about water pressure, but neither I nor my friends had that problem. The extra-person fees were my only gripe, though that was minor. I had a couple of discrepancies, but they handled them professionally and adjusted the bill without a fuss. I was really happy with how politely they took care of it. If you’re looking for a hotel around Long Beach/Torrance, I’d highly recommend this one.

We spent two nights here and had an amazing experience. The management was great, and the staff were very polite. It’s in a quiet neighborhood and easy to get to.

The rooms are clean, simple, and modern, and there’s a relaxing spa on site. Check-in was quick and the staff polite. Having the attached restaurant was handy when we arrived late. Parking was plentiful, with easy access to the 110 and 405. A good base for seeing the South Bay without paying beach-town prices.
