Ute Mountain Casino Hotel

We pulled in during a road trip to eat and use the restroom. There was lots of parking, and the casino was clean. It was early, so there weren’t many people inside. We got breakfast burritos at the small deli, and the staff were nice. The price was very reasonable and service quick, but neither of us liked the burrito much because it had no flavor. I’d come back if I’m in the area and try something else.

We stayed one night and got a great room price. The room was immaculate and the casino was great. I won a couple hundred dollars. The lobby smelled like cigarettes, but thankfully the room didn’t. The food was really bad, though, and I had to drive into town to get dinner.

The room was nice and the hotel was quiet. The mashed potatoes were good, and the guy who checked us into the hotel was really nice. The women at the desk where you get a players club card were nice too. But the buffet was probably the worst I’ve ever had, and we got sick after eating the shrimp, which costs an extra 10. It was served hot in a galvanized bucket, and I believe that can make you very sick when it touches hot food or substances. It isn’t USDA/FDA approved. I’d visit the hotel again, but never the buffet. It would be nice if someone reached out about us getting sick from that bucket.

We stopped in at about 5:30 on a Friday after getting gas across the way. We were hungry and thought they might have a buffet, and were glad we came in. Dinner was $20 each and included prime rib. There was delicious raspberry tea, soups, salads, and desserts, including fresh peach pie. My only small complaint is that they don’t serve ice cream with the desserts. The staff were really friendly and made me feel welcome. They also have RV spots available, which we’ll keep in mind for another time.
