The room felt roomy, clean, and updated, but a few things got in the way of the relaxing break I’d booked it for. I chose it specifically for the hot tub and fireplace, and the fireplace didn’t work. The hot tub had a dirty ring, so I bought wipes to clean it, and its drain only worked if I held it down the whole time. The tub and shower in the bathroom also drained poorly and filled up while I was showering. I would stay again, but I’d ask first to make sure those things had been checked and were working.

I stayed in room 211, and there were a lot of problems that need attention. The shower had no cold water, which I mentioned at checkout, but the woman at the desk just chuckled and said nothing. Someone higher up should do a surprise inspection. The room smelled strongly of floral bug spray when I walked in, and the next morning I saw roaches on the toilet seat. I also tripped over the air conditioner cord. The beds were comfortable, though too high for many people. The large mirror with built-in lighting didn’t work, the towels were the roughest I’ve ever felt, and the toilet seat looked as if spray paint had been used to cover damage. Its lock was loose and missing a screw, though it still worked. Breakfast raised another concern. I saw a man sweeping, then pick up a towel that had been lying around and use it to wipe tables. Without washing his hands, he went to check and move the hot food. When someone asked for forks, he put on one glove and filled the fork container.

Mom and I have stayed here for the past few years when visiting the Smokies, and it’s always been a great experience. It’s so quiet, and the people who run the place are kind and wonderful. Breakfast is included, and honestly, it has the best coffee I’ve ever had at a hotel. Highly recommend staying here! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

The setting is beautiful, and some of the room renovations were done well, though other parts still looked dated. There were dead stink bugs on the floor, and the bathroom tub needed a good cleaning. The internet kept dropping every 1-2 minutes on several devices, and I got very little service. I tried to check out the night before because I wanted an early start, but was told I couldn’t. The manager was on his cell phone. Later, I called about four people smoking in their room, where they’d apparently been smoking all afternoon and evening. It got bad enough that I left a little after midnight. I do give them credit for getting one room to turn down its blaring TV and music. They advertise a non-smoking facility, but the policy wasn’t enforced. If cigarette smoke bothers you, this may not be the place for you. I know it’s partly luck whether there are smokers in the building.

The room smelled nice and looked clean at first, but then we found cockroaches in the bathroom, in the tub and on the sink. We left because we didn’t want to take them home. My husband spoke to an employee who acted like she didn’t care and didn’t apologize. She said she couldn’t return his cash until the manager arrived at 8am, but when we came back around 7:45am, his money was ready. It could be a decent place to stay if the staff were kinder and there were no roaches.
