The quiet, well-kept setting in the woods was just what I wanted for a weekend to recharge. Laurel Valley Retreat was a lovely last-minute find, with clearings and observation decks, including a private balcony, that had breathtaking mountain views. Each morning I woke to the smell of freshly made Belgian waffles, and they were delicious. I slept like a rock in a clean, firm bed, and the full shower had endless hot water, nice finishes, and a skylight. It was a charming, rustic retreat, and a real treat to enjoy on a whim.

A quaint, comfy spot for a romantic getaway, with Smokies trails close by and Townsend nearby. Hope serves breakfast and is super sweet and accommodating. Just keep in mind what the description says, you can hear guests in nearby rooms and the rooms above. Highly recommend.

The mountain view is gorgeous from this peaceful, high-up getaway. Our room was clean, and the whole setup is really cute. Breakfast was complimentary, delicious, and had a little of everything you need. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We spotted a bear moving around below the mountainside near the greenhouse as we walked to the retreat lodge for breakfast. The meal was well catered and delicious, with coffee and hot tea, mini quiche, muffins, breakfast meats, potato casserole, sweet rolls, bagels, tiny Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, orange and apple juice, and all the condiments. It was just what we needed to start the day. My husband and I stayed overnight at this beautiful retreat, and the long driveway and mountain view from our room were stunning. I’d definitely return to Laurel Valley Mountain Retreat.

The Bordeaux suite was amazing, and the views and rooms were excellent. The trouble was the family in the chalet above us. They were very loud, screaming and stomping until midnight every night. We were downstairs, and the noise from other guests was the only negative. I don’t blame families with young kids, but if you book here, you’re at the mercy of your neighbors. Five stars for everything else.
