Donna, the food and beverage manager, was AMAZING: hospitable, accommodating, and personable. Brittney Brown took great care of us when our family met for drinks, staying open later when more people came to the bar at closing time. She was so attentive and friendly. My husband and I have stayed here twice while visiting my niece at Towson University, and both overnight stays were comfortable. We also had a wonderful breakfast the next morning. I give it a 10 out of 5 stars! 🤩

The remodeled rooms felt fresh and modern, and the area seemed very safe. My wife and I felt good throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is ideal, within walking distance of the mall and lots of restaurants. Jason at the front desk deserves a shoutout. We arrived late, but he was upbeat, got us checked in quickly, and gave us bottles of water since my wife is a rewards member. My parents used to stay here when they visited me at college and loved it, so when I was recently back in town, we chose it too. There’s a koi pond outside that my dad is a big fan of, hence the photo from one of their old drives down to take me to college.

The catering was a pleasant surprise. Lunch was a nice spread of sandwiches, salads, and soup instead of the usual boxed meal. The drink choices were limited to water and iced tea, though, with no soda or even lemons. At a full-day conference, having soda for a little caffeine and sugar would have been appreciated. The bigger problem was the condition of the ballroom and event areas at the Sheraton Baltimore North. I attended a conference there and found the carpet badly worn, with spots that could trip someone. The space looks overdue for a refresh and was a bit gross, enough to make me think twice about staying there or recommending it. We had the facility until 3 p.m. but finished early and were basically pushed out. Staff said they needed to prepare the room for another event and told us to leave, which felt extremely rude. I’ll pass this feedback on to the event organizers. The food exceeded expectations, but the facilities and staff treatment bring my rating to three stars.

Staff were really helpful and nice, and the convention restaurant offered relatively low-priced buffets each day, so attendees didn’t have to pay hotel prices for meals. I was there for one night, and despite the recent room and hotel renovations, there were still signs of repair here and there. My main issue was the out-of-order handicapped stall in the first-floor men’s bathroom. It stayed that way all weekend, during a convention that could have had thousands of people, many in their 60s and 70s. There was another bathroom on the second mezzanine floor, but that floor was fully carpeted. In a manual wheelchair, getting from the elevator to that bathroom took a good 10 minutes or more, which was very exhausting.

Brittney the bartender gave us excellent service, and Donna the manager made sure everything was handled with care. My brothers and I had a fantastic time. The place felt relaxed but still lively, and everything we ordered was delicious. Definitely somewhere I’d recommend!
