Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Harborcreek

We stay here when visiting our son at Penn State Behrend, and the staff are so nice that I raised my rating from a 3 to a 4. Parking is easy, the place is clean, and the staff are friendly. The pillow could be better, though. Breakfast is fine, just limited and a bit smaller than what you usually get at a free hotel breakfast. There's no elevator, but the hotel only has two floors.

The staff were friendly, but I was very disappointed and won't stay at this location again. I paid $50.00 more than I should have. Breakfast ran out about ten minutes after it opened, and they never put out more food. Quite a few people didn't get the breakfast they'd paid for. The pool was cold and didn't look very clean, and the bar was shut down. Our first-floor room was at the back, facing a parking lot. The curtains wouldn't close, so we had to clip them together to stop people walking past the window from seeing inside. We always stay at a Cobblestone, but this was the worst one.

Martin made the stay especially comfortable. He was professional, kind, and helpful, and stopped what he was doing to answer my questions. He went above and beyond, and his positive attitude really stood out. I hope the hotel appreciates and recognizes him. I liked the place enough to extend my stay to two nights. It was very clean and conveniently located, with laundry, a workout room, and a pool. The parking spaces weren't confined, and there were plenty of towels, washcloths, and hand towels. Breakfast was perfect. I hope the next hotel from this chain I find on my travels is just as good.

The room was filthy and smelled awful. There were blood stains on the carpet, body hair in the tub, on the shower walls and in the jacuzzi, and mold on the walls. Things were damaged all over, and the carpet was torn by the doorway with sharp nails sticking up. This wasn't even close to a 3 star hotel. After the long drive to usa from Canada, we picked up our room key at 5pm and went to dinner. When we got back and saw the room, I reported it right away. The desk clerk apologized, offered to clean what he could himself, refunded my security deposit, and gave me a beer. He said there was no manager on site and nothing else he could do, but that the manager would be there in the morning. He also said a refund wasn't possible because I'd prepaid through Expedia. When I asked for another room, he said there wasn't one available and the manager would help in the morning. No one was there in the morning. A young lady laughed and said the manager wouldn't arrive until late afternoon, while checkout was at 11am. Don't book here. It could ruin your vacation.
