Hampton Inn Tracy

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The sheets and towels felt hard, and I don’t think the chemicals were rinsed out properly. I had a severe allergic reaction, with facial swelling and a rash. I asked the front desk to move me, but Pritika refused very rudely. When I asked for fresh bedding in case that helped, Pritika was even ruder and seemed not to care about my situation. I was lucky it was my third night, because otherwise the answer would have been no. Ashanti also denied my late checkout, saying on a Monday night they “needed all of their rooms.” I asked for a manager, but apparently no manager was on site. I had to leave my daughter’s softball game to collect my things because, as they put it, if I wasn’t out by 12:30 they would charge me. When I tried to explain to Ashanti that they didn’t need my room until 1, and other guests got a later checkout, I had another awful encounter with Pritika. I’m an honors member and stay at Hilton properties several times a month. The customer service here was the worst I could imagine. I’ll contact Hilton corporate, and after this experience, my whole team and our families will likely start using other name brand properties. They need customer service training quickly. This isn’t Hilton standard.

Charging $12 for parking feels like a money grab, especially since plenty of nearby hotels park guests for free. I checked the options within two miles: Holiday Inn, Best Western Luxury, Microtel by Wyndham, Home2 Suites Hilton, and Extended Stay America all have free parking. Fairfield Inn in the same parking lot as you also charges $12. The Townplace Suites by Marriott down the road, which hasn’t opened yet, won’t charge for parking either. With only one of the many hotels nearby charging, I don’t see how that fits “market conditions.”

CJ at the front desk was phenomenal. I decided to arrive a day early, and CJ helped combine my two reservations so I could stay in the same room. The self-parking fee seems odd for Tracy, and this place will probably need updating soon.

Don’t stay here. There are no security cameras, and they still charge for parking even when a guest’s vehicle gets broken into. Tracy isn’t the safest area, and this Hampton Inn seems to have done little to make the property secure for guests.
