Mayra, the manager, was rude and unhelpful when I asked for a receipt. Because I booked through a third party, she refused to help at all, rolled her eyes, and gave me attitude when I asked if anything could be printed. I've never had worse hotel customer service. There were cops all over the place too, and it's not the best area. The rooms were so-so, and I'm unhappy enough that I won't stay again. The guy working there was great, though. I can't remember his name, maybe Kevin? He was a younger Indian gentleman and actually left me feeling much better, especially after dealing with Mayra and her absurd behavior.

I contacted corporate after the stay to warn them this hotel could hurt their reputation if they don't address the problems. On arrival, my husband was showering and told me there was no hot water and holes in the bathroom wall. I also noticed the place smelled like marijuana. We told Ali, who goes by John, what was wrong. He agreed about the marijuana smell and apologized. He said he couldn't refund us, but could move us to another room. Since it was around 11 p.m. and we were exhausted, we agreed. The next morning the new room still had no hot water, so I took a cold shower. I politely asked the woman at the front desk for a refund, but she got defensive and said I kept changing my story. She said nobody named Ali worked there, though I later learned from my husband that Ali goes by John. She claimed to have video proof that I'd changed my story and said she'd show corporate. I told her it sounded scripted and assumed that's how she handled complaints. She immediately left the room. I called corporate myself from the car. They gave me a case number and said they'd get back to me within a week. Whether I get a refund or not, I had the experience and can warn others. I've also learned to check reviews and not rush into the first place I see.

I've stayed there before and the people were super nice, so I hate writing this. A few days ago, I wanted to let the owner know how awful the service was that night. I'd gone back several times because my key wasn't working, then because there weren't towels or enough pillows in the room. The young woman I needed help from was on her phone while some guys in the lobby were rolling a blunt. She kept talking with them and giving me attitude, like I was bothering her. I'd spoken to the manager on the phone earlier that day and she was super nice, so this was a surprise. The rooms need an upgrade. They look dirty, though they aren't exactly dirty, just old. I'd come back, but not if that young woman is going to treat people like that.

The room had no working light, and earlier we found the floor unswept and the fridge still dirty. We only needed the place for one night, so we let that go. Then a fire alarm woke us at 2 am, and our room had lost power. Reception was no help and seemed annoyed when we called. My husband asked for another room so we could get ready, but the options kept falling through: 108 had no microwave, the key for 211 didn’t work, 252 also had no microwave, and 247’s microwave was broken. She finally offered 205 and said we could bring the microwave from 217. We asked for a refund, but she refused because another room had been offered. We stayed in 205 rather than keep going back and forth, and it had no working light either. We shouldn’t have been woken by an alarm and left without electricity in the middle of the night, then given rooms that didn’t fix the problem. Check-in was bad too. We waited over 30 minutes while the attendant walked away and locked the doors. When she came back, there was a line and she seemed very annoyed. Breakfast was falsely advertised, and people who seem to live there hung around the halls talking all night, so don’t expect to sleep. Bring your own generator and appliances if you stay here. You can’t make this stuff up.

My family was left out in the wind, rain, and cold on Christmas Eve because the room key wouldn’t open the door. It was windy and bitter outside, and my two small kids were getting sleepy while we waited. The guy at the office sent me back to try the key again, but it still didn’t work. He eventually gave me a different room, though it smelled like someone had smoked in it all night and wasn’t very clean. I guess I got what I paid for since it wasn’t expensive, but next time I’ll go somewhere else, even if it costs $40-60 more. One of the worst experiences I’ve had. I can’t recommend this place. If you have the chance to stay somewhere else, take it. 👎
