The hosts were the highlight. We spent an hour hearing about the area and the house’s history, and they clearly work hard to look after their guests. The stone cottage was clean and orderly, and breakfast was great. We stayed one night and could walk to downtown Traverse City or to the beach and parkway, about six blocks away. The town's restaurants had lots of energy. I'd recommend this charming, warm B&B to anyone looking to stay a little off the beaten path.

David’s breakfasts were something we looked forward to each morning, and they were delicious. When we picked up picnic supplies at a local market, Melinda kindly lent us a cooler and towels. Both hosts were welcoming and friendly. The clean, quiet Aberdeen Stone cottage is in a lovely neighborhood, an easy walk from downtown and the lake. We stayed over the 4th of July and during the National Cherry Festival, and the bed was very comfortable. We'd definitely return.

We had a wonderful time, thanks in part to the proprietors' helpful suggestions for things to do around Traverse City. This charming little house is just a few minutes from downtown, and the couple running the B&B were delightful. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and the coffee was excellent. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The breakfasts were the best I've had at a B&B, with fresh fruit, homemade and local baked goods, and egg and meat dishes that changed each day. We stayed a week during the Traverse City Cherry Fest, and it was a great base. Each room had private off-road parking, a real advantage when festival parking was tight. The location was also handy for downtown TC and the waterfront, with the TART hiking and biking trail starting at the end of the street and running toward Suttons Bay, about 17 miles through beautiful countryside once outside TC. David, a real foodie, pointed us to hard-to-find restaurant gems in and out of town, including an English-style inn serving authentic English and Scottish dishes. Melinda and David were pleasant and full of local knowledge. They were great hosts, reading when guests wanted conversation and when they preferred to keep things businesslike. We liked the Scottish Highlands theme after visiting Scotland the previous year, and the place was even more appealing in person than in the photos. The clean rooms kept the decor simple, without all the knick-knacks that can take up space or make you worry about breakage. During a heat wave, with most days in the 90s and a few nearing 100, the air conditioning kept our upstairs room quite chilly, even in the more than 100-year-old house. They even have a tiny cherry tree of their own, with three cherries, a start! We’ll be back.

David made delicious breakfasts from scratch each morning, and the hosts were very accommodating with helpful ideas for nearby places to visit. Melinda and David made us feel welcome. Their neighborhood was quiet and conveniently close to downtown.
