South Beach Oceanfront Resort

The place was spotless, including the corners and crevices, and the price and location were fantastic. I appreciated not having daily housekeeping, the hallway bins for trash and recycling that seemed to be emptied several times a day, and the big towel refresh on day 4. Whoever handles housekeeping deserves to be valued. Most of our frustrations came from awkward communication and staff seeming out of sync. When we arrived, I noticed a few superficial but obvious bits of damage. The website says to report damage or risk being charged, so I mentioned it to the woman at the front desk as we left. She seemed really weirded out by that. My boyfriend had to fix the toilet three times because the float kept detaching. The dryer ran for a few seconds, then wouldn't start again. Since it was before the front desk opened, I took the wet laundry to a laundromat. When I got back, another woman at the desk said I probably had a vapor dryer and just needed to empty the water. I explained it was a regular dryer that wasn't working, and she said she'd try to find someone. A sweet housekeeper said we could have used their dryer if they'd known, and offered to help carry the laundry upstairs. Five minutes later, an older man arrived. He said he didn't fix appliances but would take a look, and couldn't get it working either. He said the front desk would give me a place to do laundry, though I hadn't asked and nobody offered one. The next day he came back to measure the dryer space and said the unit owner would buy a new dryer. Three days after that, our unit phone rang and I was told Home Depot would deliver it in FIVE MINUTES. When she realized I didn't know what she was talking about, she asked if we'd been notified. We hadn't. We also wanted to order pizza and watch the Bucs on Thursday night football. I tried to switch to my own Prime account in the morning, but the TV wouldn't let me log in. They had Prime TV but not Prime Video. Casting from my phone didn't work because their account couldn't be signed out, so we had to go to a bar, which was really inconvenient. Nothing here was terrible, but we had a weird accumulation of odd problems.
