The Bayside Inn & Marina

We had a late check-in, but it went smoothly. This is a quiet, clean, cute vintage place just across the street from Treasure Island Beach, within walking distance. The rooms looked freshly renovated since Milton came through, and ours had a stocked kitchenette and a large closet. The owners and staff were phenomenally friendly. My wife enjoyed the heated pool, and we both liked the picnic tables by their marina. We’ll book again soon.

We visited in January, so the heated pool was a godsend after spending hours in the Gulf. The rooms looked newly renovated, and the owners have done a fantastic job after Hurricane Milton, despite having plenty of work to do. They were super accommodating and lovely. Next time we’ll try their boat rentals at the marina out back. There’ll definitely be a next time!

This just wasn’t a good stay, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. St. Petes is gorgeous, but I’ll find somewhere else next time. The rooms are dated and musty, the beds uncomfortable, and the metal frames creaked loudly whenever anyone moved. We got only two tiny, cheap pillows and sheet-thin blankets. The bathroom window had no blinds or curtains. The office staff were extremely rude. They parked their personal cars in the front pull-through, making check-in and parking difficult in an already small lot. They charged me an extra $25 for my daughter, even though our reservation said she stayed free. The office locks at 9pm, so good luck if you have a problem later. We returned from dinner around 9:15pm and our room keys didn’t work again. The office was locked, so I called the number on the door. They answered sounding irritated that I wanted to get into my room. The keys had to be reset twice, and they gave me attitude when I asked them to fix it. The pool is too small for more than two people. The whole place needs work.

We drove more than 22 hours to Treasure Island, and when we got to the hotel the manager wasn’t there to let us in. She knew our check-in was at 3pm but arrived late with the room key. She apologized, but after a 22-hour drive we just wanted to rest. At first the hotel looked great. Then we found long black hairs all over the kitchen and bathroom towels, no hot water at all, and a big termite infestation in our room. We were there three nights with a baby and needed extra towels for showering. When my husband asked, the manager was extremely rude and said she’d given us enough for three nights. That wasn’t the case when we were going to the beach and needed to shower. The room notice specifically said, “TOWELS CAN BE REPLACED DAILY IF NEEDED,” but apparently asking for more was too much. The female manager was nice on day one, then treated us like a huge inconvenience. The location is great, but the service is below par.
