Wyndham Garden Trenton

We were there for a cheer competition while the hotel was hosting a convention, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Check-in dragged on because their systems were having issues, and only one elevator worked. The room was poor too: hard, flat beds, awful pillows, garbage under the bed, no food menu, and barely working A/C. Worst of all, there was NO HOT WATER, which MANY other guests confirmed. There was no manager on call to report this to. The in-house restaurant took cash only and had no proper attendant to help or seat people. The stay didn’t meet the hotel’s name or the rates they charge.

The location was good, and the lobby looked nice. Some staff were attentive, while others were rude. The first room they assigned was clearly still lived in, with clothes and personal belongings around, and it hadn’t been cleaned. The second was a little better: the bed was made, but there were no pillows or comforter, and there were ashes in the sink. It was enough when I needed somewhere in a pinch.

We arrived to check in at 11:30 pm, but it took half an hour just to get a room key. Our first room was occupied, so we waited another 45 minutes for a different one. That one was occupied too, though the key actually opened it. Scary, with children along. The hotel was very dirty, and nobody seemed to know what was happening. They blamed the computer being down, which looks like their standard excuse from the other reviews. We left at 1 am to find somewhere else to stay.

The hotel was clean, at least. But the information I got by phone didn’t match what was available: I was told the restaurant stayed open until 10 and room service was offered, then at 9:30 I was told the restaurant was closed and there was no room service. Takeout was apparently an option, but the service made me come down to the lobby to collect it. I was also told there was valet parking, though no such thing was available. Then, 20 minutes after I checked in, another guest was trying to open my door with their key. I’ve traveled for business for 20 years and never had that happen.
