Budget Host

I’d put this among the five worst, most disgusting hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There was a huge gap around the door, with drywall missing all the way around it. Spiderwebs were piled above the bed and throughout the vents and AC. The walls were covered in boogers, snot, and who knows what, including the wall that looked like it had been painted most recently. Other walls had black mold or something that looked nasty. There’s nowhere for dogs, but they still charge you for them. My animals couldn’t have made this embarrassing place any worse. I may report it to the Colorado health board.

Quiet, clean room. A solid choice if you just need a good night’s sleep.

Everything seemed simple, clean, and affordable, but the bed made it a rough stay. The mattress sagged so badly in the middle that the two of us kept rolling toward each other when we lay down. When you’re on the road, a decent night’s sleep is the main thing, and this Budget Host didn’t deliver.

We couldn’t book online for a quick stay because the night auditor didn’t want to put us in a unit that was already clean. Then there were charges for having four guests instead of two, even though two of my friends wound up sleeping in the car. They were charged again when I let them use my shower. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they charged me for smoking outside too. I’ve worked in hotels for a long time and have never seen guest-count charges like this. They seem hungry for money, which might explain the two-star rating. I’ll never come back to this company.
