Century Hotel

There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, and if you can, ask for a room facing the lake rather than the parking lot. I stay here around four or more times a year, sometimes for several days at a time. The rooms are consistently clean, and the staff are accommodating. The gentleman with white hair is especially nice and always remembers my name. It's probably my favorite regular hotel.

A comfortable, cozy place in a handy spot between Portland and its surrounding suburbs. Century Hotel feels well put together without trying to be flashy or fancy.

After our power went out and the house got freezing, we spent the night at this locally owned hotel. The room was in great shape, with a little deck, calming decor, and no odd smells or allergens. I'm very sensitive to odors, which I've often run into at hotels, and even the heater here didn't give off the smell I get from chain hotel heaters. The staff were friendly, everything was extremely clean, and the quiet, well-maintained place was just what we needed after a stressful winter event. We also got to meet the owner, Charlie. It's run by a local family, and I really liked the design and the whole stay.

The staff handled things excellently, but the hotel had very few modern conveniences. The bathroom fan was disconnected, and the only USB port was on a bedside lamp. The lobby was under construction, and for our entire weeklong stay it smelled of paint and solvents.
