Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Northlake

Atlanta was shut down during Saturday’s snowstorm, and this hotel took care of me and more than 60 guests at a moment’s notice. I’d flown in from Baltimore to host a wellness event, and we’re grateful for the respect and love they showed us. That Southern hospitality is unmatched. We’ll always book with them, and I promise this will be the only hotel I stay at in Atlanta. The manager and overnight manager were excellent. The rooms were clean, the showers hot, and the towels fresh. They’re adding elevators to improve the building, so please give them a chance.

I didn’t get a room, but I’m grateful for the staff’s kindness. At 9 p.m., while we were driving down the highway, my elderly mother needed to use the restroom. I pulled up to the door to let her out, then parked, and the staff were so nice. Thank you very much.

The gentleman at the front desk tonight was amazing. My room wasn’t quite what I wanted, and he fixed it for me right away without any trouble. He went above and beyond and definitely deserves a raise. Thank you.

Edward at the front desk was professional, helpful, and polite, and Eden on the Bistro night shift was just as good. Edward also kindly brought my bags to the third room, which I appreciated after nine hours on the road, especially with my back problems. I was in pain. I’d give the property a C-. The first room had feces all over the shower pan and floor, and the toilet was unflushed and clogged. While I waited in the lobby, Edward checked a second room, but it had some sort of water leak. The third room was okay. Other problems added up over my six-day stay. The ice maker was broken the whole time, and ice was only available at the Bistro before 10 a.m. and from 5 to 10 p.m. That’s wholly unacceptable. My in-room Keurig wasn’t stocked well, and the coffee wasn’t as tasty as the Bistro’s. After 10 a.m. the Bistro coffee wasn’t available, though some people want coffee at other hours. When I asked the front desk for more, they sent a housekeeper with only decaf pods and flat packets that didn’t work with my machine. My sheets were never changed, and I had to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper. If that’s the policy, it needs to be communicated much more clearly. The A/C was temperamental and hard to adjust, so I was usually too cold or too hot. The key card worked on the outside door but had a lot of trouble with my room door. Re-keying it at the desk made no difference. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone I like.
