Hampton Inn Atlanta Stone Mountain

I canceled and moved to another hotel the next day, but I'm still dealing with management about my refund as of 5/17/26. I had booked 4/3/26-4/5/26 to visit Stone Mountain with my family over spring break, and nobody told us the hotel was being renovated. Construction had left the hallways and carpet dirty, and the old elevators made a strange jump that scared my daughters, as if they were dropping. The room was the worst of it. There were cockroaches all over, including in the bathroom, inside the refrigerator, and near the entrance. I think the place should be closed and inspected by health authorities. I give it one star for the unhealthy conditions. Don't book here and spoil your vacation.

The location is tucked into an obscure corner, with not much nearby that you'd want to go see. In the room, the floor was kind of slimy where it wasn't carpeted, and the little coffeemaker was missing the supplies it needed, so I improvised in the morning. The facilities feel really dated. My shower sprayed brown, rusty water for 15 minutes before I could use it. The linens were old but clean. It was fine, just not much more than that.

The rooms are basic, but they worked perfectly well for what I needed. The location was great for getting around, with hiking, dinner and drinks, and a huge beauty supply store all 10-20 minutes away. The staff were really friendly and helpful, too. This place is a gem, and I'll definitely come back.

The front desk staff were super friendly, but the rest of the stay was aggravating. I was there for six days. The first room had a strong moldy smell coming from the bathroom, so I had to switch rooms. In the second room, housekeeping skipped four days. I asked them three days in a row to clean and refill the shower gel, and nothing happened. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.
