DoubleTree by Hilton Tucson - Reid Park

The people I met at the hotel were consistently helpful and greeted me with smiles. Royce at the desk was especially friendly and went out of his way to make my work trip pleasant. My room was quiet, clean, and spacious. Breakfast at Cactus Rose was delicious: I had an omelette with Monterey jack cheese, spinach, and mushrooms, with grilled tomatoes in place of the pictured toast and breakfast potatoes. At the adjoining Javelina, David gave awesome service with my outstanding Cobb Salad at lunch. I'd definitely stay here again if work or a vacation brings me back to Tucson.

Royce checked me in quickly and efficiently, then gave me a room upgrade at no extra cost. It was much more spacious than expected and had a nice view of the pool and mountains. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the front desk staff were kind. I'm a Hilton Honors member and make weekend trips to TUS, so this will be my regular choice next time. It's also close to UofA and downtown, and I'd recommend it.

After several days on the road, we finally got a clean, roomy room where our family could get a deep night's sleep, and our baby was happy too. The hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade, subject to availability. On our trip, other hotels hadn't given us the upgrade accommodations expected for certain Hilton members after seeing that we were traveling with a baby. We had first booked another nearby place, but it reassigned our room at the last minute after noticing our baby and that we were using Hilton points following digital check-in. We spoke with Hilton and paid a little more to book Doubletree Reid Park instead, and I'm glad we did. The hotel has a calm, spa-like feel. The outdoor pool and garden were clean, and the gym beside the pool was bright, clean, and had working equipment for a quick workout. Staff throughout our stay were helpful, polite, and professional. There was plenty of room, whether staying solo and quietly, taking a romantic getaway, or stopping between business trips or vacation. I'd recommend it.

Over three consecutive weeks, I had to stay here three times, and each stay brought another problem. On Jan 7th they couldn't make keys, so after check-in security had to walk me to the room and let me in. The AC rattled so loudly after my shower that I couldn't sleep, so I asked for another room and then waited for security to let me in there too. I know it was late after a long day, so that wasn't the end of the world. On Jan 14, the bathroom floor was sticky, soap from the wall dispensers had leaked all over the bathtub, and the soap was empty. On Jan 21, it took three trips to the front desk before the keys worked. My company books this hotel, and I'll do my best to get them to use somewhere else. It's the kind of place where you leave the light on for you. I wouldn't pay their asking price to stay here.
