Hampton Inn Tucumcari

The comfy classic Hampton Inn beds and breakfast are the only reason I'm giving one star. Stay clear. I believe the owners don't care, and I accuse the staff of theft over my glasses. After we got stuck in a blizzard, I left my glasses at the front desk and called to ask them to hold them safely while I went to get gas. Tucumcari, New Mexico, felt like a ridiculous black, empty town in that storm. I had to press charges and call the police, threatening to have them check security footage, before the employee returned the glasses. She said she'd taken them home to keep them safe because she knew she'd see me tomorrow. Why not bring them to my room or the pool where I was? The facility badly needs updates. The sauna was broken, and they were understaffed. Even after the owner was told about what I described as a felony larceny involving guests, the owner wouldn't show up or speak with me, comp our room, offer a free stay next time, or even give me a cordial apology. I had to press charges and still got no help. The spa is dirty and unkept, and the vending machines take your money.
