Park Motel and Cabins

The room felt dark and stale, with just one bedside lamp, an old stained carpet, and a sink full of water when we arrived. The bathroom looked like it needed a complete remodel, and I couldn’t bring myself to take the shower. After a long day riding, there was no ice for a drink. The next morning I found a coffee maker but no coffee, and there were no USB ports and barely any outlets. We had a king and a queen bed for two people in Motel Room #4, but this motel isn’t ready for guests. Keep driving. We saw several nice-looking motels in town that weren’t listed on Google Maps.

Tupper Lake has good fishing, and you can rent boats and kayaks without the traffic of the more popular Adirondack lakes. It’s a little over an hour from lake placid and two hours from lake George. We stayed one night while driving through and liked the cabin enough to plan a longer trip next summer. It was clean, cozy, and welcoming, and Garret, the new owner, was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the whole stay, whether you’re vacationing or just passing through.

The cabin rooms were clean and beautifully done, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. We had a great two-day stay and I’ll definitely come back.

It had been since our 1985 honeymoon that we stayed at the Park. The room and bed were comfortable, and we had a hot shower. Its central location made it easy to get to everything we were doing in Tupper Lake that weekend, and it suited the two of us perfectly. The owner is one of the nicest ladies you’ll meet. She has a lot going on, but still took time to sit and talk with us.
