Residence Inn by Marriott Tuscaloosa

The staff have been wonderful whenever we've called with questions or requests, even things that felt silly or embarrassing. Everyone just helped without batting an eye. It's one of my best hotel experiences, and I practically grew up in a hotel where my mother worked. I've also traveled with my grandmother my whole life, staying at hiltons and hampton inns. My BF and I are here for valentines day weekend while he has a job, and his boss kindly arranged our stay at Residence Inn. We didn't expect the room, service, and hospitality to be this good. The room has a lovely view, a comfortable clean bed, and a clean bathroom and shower. There's a nice kitchenette stocked with plates, bowls, silverware, knives, a cutting board, potholder, and several stainless steel pans. The bar stools fit me comfortably, even though I'm a bigger girl. Hot water comes right away and stays hot. No odd smells, noises, or gritty floors and counters. There's a pleasant little living room with a desk, plus mixing bowls and a full-size fridge with freezer, so I could make his work lunch. The small dishwasher comes with two tablets, a sponge, and Palmolive, but guests before you are the ones who wash the dishes. I've been handwashing things before using them, then I'll run the dishwasher before we leave. There's an indoor heated pool, grills, a fire pit, a gym, and a bar open in the evenings. Breakfast is a little above average, with good coffee and tea that seem to be available all day. Those are the amenities I've noticed so far. I'm very grateful to the staff and my BFs boss for making this a good visit.
