The location might put you off at first since you drive past a mostly empty outlet mall, but the neighborhood and surrounding area are VERY nice. We’ll absolutely look for this specific hotel on our next roadtrip. Our family with kids felt welcome, and the employees were attentive. They kept checking the food and actually talked with us. There was plenty of seating in a comfortable space. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best: sausage links, egg omelettes, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, fresh fruit, drinks, individual yogurt and oatmeal cups. The kids especially loved the Pancake machine, which we call the pancake printer. The coffee machine freshly grinds beans for each cup. Amazing stay. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable.

We called ahead to ask about an earlier check in, and the staff took great care of us. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and well organized. The whole faculty looked clean and sharp, and our room felt modern and well designed. Both my wife and I noticed how soft the sheets were. It’s a very nice holiday inn express, and we’d definitely stay here again.

We worried it might be noisy because it’s near the Interstate, and we could still hear doors closing at 9:30pm. Turned out to be a quiet night. Maybe they could consider soft closing doors in the future. The bed was comfy, the room clean, and the breakfast items were warm. We thought the price was fair, and liked the dove products in the bathroom too.

The breakfast is worth trying, especially the veggie omelette, cinnamon rolls, and exceptional coffee. This hotel is easy to reach, and both the rooms and service were top-notch. Everything was spotless and had recently been updated. The bed was so comfortable. The room also had thoughtful touches, including full blackout curtains, plenty of plugins, and nice lighting. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve met. I highly recommend it.

I’ve stayed here a few times while driving through southern/central IL. It’s a diamond in a rough, in a quiet, quaint town with lots of charm. Management is great, the hot breakfast is delicious, and everyone is so hospitable. Special thanks to Jay and his team for a great stay!
