Magnuson Hotel Union

The room did what I needed, which was give me a place for the night. I was in room 119, the handicap room. It was spacious, but the high tub wall made it hard to get around, and the shower head came up to my neck. Shorter people should be fine. Check-in was easy, and the lady there was nice. The mattresses are very hard and need an upgrade. I’d still stay again if I needed to.

My reservation was for three months from now, but a situation came up and I had to switch hotel locations. They wouldn’t refund cancellations, so I’m out $141. Even if I’m ever in Union again, I won’t stay at Rodeway. This is the biggest hotel-related disappointment I’ve had all year.

After long days out doing fieldwork, this place is quiet and relaxing. I've stayed here three times now, and the beds are comfortable, the showers have plenty of hot water, and the desk staff are always welcoming. A good choice for tired travelers or work crews.

The front desk worker was kind, and having a Family Dollar across the street and a restaurant sharing the parking lot is convenient. The hotel is clearly dated, but it's adequate if you don't need many amenities. I wouldn't pick it for a family vacation, though it works for work trips, crews, or a quick stop on a long drive or move.
