Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus OSU, OH

The hotel's close to OSU, which worked well for my business trip. But there was a gas smell in the elevator and first-floor hallway. I told the front desk, and the woman there said she'd noticed it too, but management didn't want to address it. That really concerns me. There shouldn't be any gas smell in a hotel, and this needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

I stayed seven nights in an accessible suite. Cyre and Aneek at reception were 10/10, and I really appreciated all the help they gave me. The breakfast had a good variety, plenty to eat, and was tasty, with delightful staff too. I also enjoyed the Wednesday social, and the hotel has plenty of great amenities, so I would book here again. Housekeeping was the weak spot. On the first service day, they changed three towels and emptied the trash but didn't make the bed. Another day, they left the cabinet doors open. They also didn't sweep or mop, since I could still see drops of lemon juice on the floor. If I could bend down, I'd have cleaned it up myself. Housekeeping needs some attention.

The staff and service were terrific, though a few small things in the room weren't working. They were annoying but not essential. Finding the hotel can be tricky if you don't already know it's there, and nearby parking is limited. There's a separate garage, but it's a bit of a walk. There aren't many dining options nearby either.

We stayed with our family on the way to vacation, and if we're in the area again, this will definitely be our place. The rooms were huge and clean, and the gym and pool area were nice and clean too. The staff were excellent, friendly, and helped with everything I needed. Great location, with restaurants, ice cream, shops, and stores all on the same block.
