Urbana Inn & Suites

This was a horrible stay for a three-star hotel. There were ants and mice, and neither the manager nor the employee answered the phone. The employees smelled bad and seemed unprofessional, and one had matted-looking hair. People were allowed to smoke inside the building, which didn't feel safe for children. The pool didn't feel safe either, and the water was so cold a baby could get hypothermia. The electrical system also seemed outdated.

There was so much to choose from at breakfast, it’s hard to list it all. They had several cereals and milks, regular and decaf coffee, plus waffles, bagels in four flavors, strawberry cream cheese, and four kinds of jelly. There was quality yogurt and plenty of fruit, including three kinds of apples, big bananas, and oranges. The breakfast setup was great too. Just go for it.

The location is tucked away, but there’s a nice quilt shop and the Yarn shop Fiber Heart Yarn Gifts nearby. The staff were friendly, and the stay was quiet and comfortable. Great hotel!

My husband especially enjoyed the breakfast each morning, and Jessica, the General Manager, was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. We spent January through April at Urbana Inn in Urbana, Iowa for business, and she went out of her way to make sure things were right. Our double room stayed clean and comfortable, with a homey feel that made a long stay easier. The property was well-kept and peaceful. I’ve recommended it already and will keep doing so. Urbana Inn & Suites is a great option whether you’re passing through or staying for a while.
