We gave up on room 304 and moved to another hotel after telling them to abandon it and fix the problems. There was no ventilation, heat, or air conditioning, only half a roll of used toilet paper, no soap, ice bucket, or cups, and the bathroom light stopped working, leaving us in the dark. The bathroom walls had been covered with fake walls, with red and blue plumbing lines exposed. One wall was bubbling, which looked like moisture might be behind it. Several people in our group got sick, though they felt better after we left. The rooms were in terrible shape, and the cleanliness was awful. The desk attendant seemed to be the only employee on site, and also handled breakfast, which we could barely call breakfast. We felt safe having only yogurt and coffee. Trash in the lobby cans sat for three days, and the lobby bathroom was disgusting. The desk area looked welcoming when we first walked in, but then we waited a while for help. We had a large group and ran into multiple problems. This place needs to be properly renovated, and I think it should be shut down until then. If you like camping, dust, possible mold exposure, and fasting for Lent, maybe this is for you. They don’t seem to care since nobody answers reviews. Good luck, and take your money somewhere else.

The room itself was okay, nothing special, but it was freezing and the heat didn’t seem to work. In the bathroom, there was no hand soap, old body wash was stuck to the shower dispensers, and the trim was cracked and broken because it hadn’t been nailed to the wall. The hotel is old and overdue for a full gut renovation, and there are better options nearby for similar prices. The pool was drained and closed, and there was no bar. The seating area had some nice options but looked only lightly renovated, and an unpleasant smell hit us when we walked in. There’s just one working elevator, and it’s extremely slow. The stairwells can only be reached from outside, not from the hallways.

We chose this hotel to rest and stretch during a 25-hour road trip, and booked specifically because the website said there was a pool. Customer service was polite, and the room was clean, but the rest of the facility was troubling. Two large orange stickers on the window said the county had shut the place down for having no license and asked people to call if it was operating. It felt like a ghost town. The pool was drained, with a little green slimy water left, and had been shut down by the health department. There was only one barely working elevator. We had to pound the wall button about 20 times to make it go. The hotel had removed its outside signage, so it took us a while to find, and from outside it looked like a warehouse. Our room had no working AC or windows to open, so we spent the night breathing stale air in what felt like an oven. We stayed longer than planned to get the breakfast advertised online, but the front desk said the cook hadn’t shown up, leaving only bagels and cereal. With just three cars in the lot, I doubt they even have a cook for hot food. I wouldn’t stay here, and recommend finding another place.

We booked four months ahead for the UIUC commencement and paid over $700 for two nights. The rooms were okay, and breakfast had some variety, though the service was so-so and the staff weren’t very friendly. The sheets were incredibly dirty, and the blanket had odd stains that the hotel neither replaced nor treated with stain remover. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone sensitive to cleanliness.

The bed was comfortable, and there was a desk and chair in the room. Beyond that, the place seems to have been nice once, but not anymore. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, only one elevator was running, and the room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. It had no cabinet, dresser, coffee machine, microwave, or refrigerator. I don’t recommend staying here.
