The bedding was comfortable, the exterior doors were secured, and getting to the elevator required a key card. The room’s heating and air worked fine. Rooms seemed cheaper than at most other Marriotts, but the pet fee was high for the room cost: $100 per stay, plus a “pet tax” and $12 for parking. Breakfast was free, but took forever. They cooked only 6 sausage patties at a time, and after every 2-3 people they ran out. Room 314 had serious cleanliness problems. There was an Aleve pill on the floor by our son’s bed, which my husband spotted before our puppy or son could get it. Aleve is highly toxic for dogs. The fridge still had chocolate milk and rotting food inside that smelled horrible. The toilet was stained, there were questionable marks on the walls, and the tub needed scrubbing. Someone else’s body hair was still in it, and there was soap scum on the shower walls, spouts, and drains. A shower curtain ring was broken, so the curtain wouldn’t close fully. The toilet tank, seat, and lid needed wiping, and there were water stains on the bathroom sinks, counters, faucets, and floor. I don’t think the room had been cleaned before we arrived. Bring slippers for the room and shoes for the shower. Apart from the bedding being changed, hopefully, and the garbage being taken out, I’m not sure anything else in room 314 was cleaned.

The woman at the desk was really nice, professional, and efficient when we checked out at 6:45 am. My wife liked the hotel’s location because it saved time in California traffic and was convenient for shopping. We checked in 12/01 and left early on 12/04 because of the problems during our stay. The fridge in room 302 wasn’t working, and she couldn’t wait for repairs because she needed to email and join a conference call with her supervisor by 5 pm. The hotel should check maintenance issues before guests arrive as part of its normal procedures, including cleanliness and safety. I also wish the windows had been cleaned. Our view was blocked by a dirty window, which didn’t give a good impression of hygiene. I travel to different states and cities for work projects, and my wife came along this time after helping me book because of the traffic.

The service was good, but I was charged for parking and hadn’t been told about it or seen the fee when I booked online. The halls smelled, and the elevator smelled like something in it was burning. The place also felt old and dingy, nowhere near what I’m used to at Fairfield Inns. I’ll probably pick somewhere else on my next trip to Vacaville. I’ll be coming out every couple of months, so this was disappointing.

Breakfast was well set out, and Katrina looked after me again as her shift was ending. My midnight check-in with Katrina, the Night Auditor, went smoothly. I’d called earlier that day and also requested extra pillows in the app, but my room hadn’t been assigned, so I had to get the pillows from Katrina myself. I’d definitely stay here again.
