The room was cleaned daily and everyone was polite, but there weren’t any amenities provided by the Ritz. We booked five nights to ski with our family and were surprised to learn they didn’t serve breakfast. At a five-star residence, I felt they should have offered something. The bar downstairs wasn’t cozy, had no fire going when we visited, felt cold, and didn’t open until 1pm, so bring groceries. There were no robes in the great room either, which didn’t feel welcoming, especially since the bar wasn’t busy. Our Unit 616 was nice, but didn’t look like the online photos, which was disappointing. The air conditioning didn’t work, and we didn’t realize until nighttime. The smart TVs were very slow when they worked at all, and seem due for an upgrade to meet a five-star rating. I also hadn’t thought to ask before booking whether the unit had A/C, but not all of them do.

The rooms were nice and clean, but the bar and restaurant were closed, which was a big disappointment. I understand it was slow season, but the other hotels I visited in the area had their bars and restaurants open. Perhaps this location, as an MVC property, was trying to save money. If it was really that slow, why did I get a unit facing the Hwy? That road can be very loud, so keep the windows closed if your room faces it. There were no fans in the bedrooms, and it sometimes got stuffy at night.

We’ve stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail for over eight years, and it used to be a favorite winter trip for our family. Our four-night stay in February 2026 was a real letdown and showed a clear decline in service and maintenance. The premium price used to feel justified by the hospitality and attention to detail, but this stay didn’t meet the Ritz Carlton standard. As long-time guests, we’re particularly disappointed and hope leadership restores the care that once made it stand out. The front desk seemed indifferent and lacked the warmth and professionalism we’d come to expect. Several gym machines didn’t work, the steam room was out of service, and one hot tub’s jets weren’t working. Both hot tubs needed a serious cleaning, and at one point there was a diaper on the pool deck. There were also basic service failures. At checkout, ski valet didn’t return our skis to the hotel, delaying us by more than an hour. Valet brought up the wrong vehicles several times, and humidifiers we’d relied on before weren’t available. For a property at this price, these problems are unacceptable. What was once exceptional now feels inconsistent and poorly maintained.

Most of my stay was really good, and I had a great time. But my interaction with Aleksandra Nagel was very disappointing. She spoke to me condescendingly, as though I couldn’t understand basic information, and didn’t offer any real help or solution. At a hotel with the Ritz’s reputation, guests should be treated respectfully and professionally, with a genuine willingness to assist. That interaction made me uncomfortable and belittled. I hope the feedback is taken seriously and helps with staff training, so future guests get the experience associated with the Ritz name.

I loved the food, especially the pretzel, and the lobby was always lively with people and noise. There were free shots each afternoon, cookies at 5PM, and guest musicians in the lobby at night. The Ritz was an unforgettable week for my family and me. As a beginner skier, I really appreciated being able to recover each day after a long time on the slopes. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and everything felt ready whenever we needed it. Concierge, valet, and ski storage all helped, and our ski boots were waiting each morning. I also loved the lotion and SPF50 bottles by every exit and entrance. They saved me from getting sunburned. Our rooms were large and comfortable, with enough privacy in the two bedrooms for us to have our own space. The beautiful, open kitchen and living area brought us together. Cleaning staff kept everything spotless each day and left extra towels and bathrobes after we used the hot tub. I took pictures of the food, unfortunately none of the actual hotel.
