The condo itself was clean and in good shape. Whenever we needed something fixed, maintenance arrived quickly, was friendly, and sorted it out on the first try. What shocked us was having to pay a daily fee to rent a humidifier, since the unit had none. After decades of skiing trips across the western US, that was a first. Getting around takes some planning. The condo shuttle was prompt during the day, but stopped at 4:30pm. That leaves no apres ski at Avanti, Red Lion or Garfunkel's unless you walk back in ski boots. For dinner, if you aren’t cooking, Vail Village is walkable, though the trip home is uphill in the thin air. The walk down is easy. We used the Transportation Center elevator to cut out some of the climb. To reach Lionshead after the condo shuttle ends, take the "In Town" buses. There is NO Vail bus route stop near the condos in either direction. For Beaver Creek, we rode the condo shuttle to the Transportation Center, then caught the Beaver Creek Express at the second loading spot from South Frontage Road. It comes every 20 minutes. Beaver Creek has small lockers for shoes or a basket check between the lower and upper escalators. For Coyote Grill, head down the hallway to the right on the middle level. We connected our boots by their top velcro straps to carry them. We missed BC's infamous free apres ski chocolate chip cookies because we needed to make the condo’s early shuttle cutoff. It was a mob scene anyway, and the cookies weren’t between the escalators like they were years ago. To avoid missing the last pickup at Vail's Transportation Center, leave BC mid-afternoon and allow a time buffer.

The Wren’s location is hard to beat. You can walk downtown, Betty Ford Park is next door for strolling, fishing, biking, and concerts, and the highway is easy to get to. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, AAA+. The condo is older, but they keep updating it and it was very clean. The balcony views of the mountains and ski areas were good to exceptional. There’s a heated pool, sauna, outdoor activities, and good parking.

Janice, our shuttle driver, was the best. She made us feel so welcome and had good suggestions for Vail. Our family had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

The location and price are good, but the place only had one trash can for three rooms. Shower water pressure was a problem, and the kitchen barely had any light. Smoking is banned everywhere on the property, but there isn’t even a bench or ashtray just outside. It made smokers feel like second hand citizens.

We’d had good stays at the Wren before, but unit 210 was in awful shape. The toilet and bath fan didn’t work, and the microwave was broken. Shower water temperature swung by 40 degrees, sometimes getting scalding hot. We complained, but they couldn’t move us until day two, and didn’t offer a discount. We won’t stay in room 210 again.
