Our suite is lovely, and we can look past the construction materials piled around the property, plastic sheeting, and drywall dust. But the hotel is heavily under construction. Scaffolding is right in front of our windows, and I had my morning coffee alongside construction workers at 8:30 a.m. Stucco work was noisy, and we had to keep the blinds closed during the day. I'm writing this because I didn't see any notice about the construction on the website when we chose the hotel.

The stream and woods behind the place gave it a tucked-away feel, even without a mountain view. We liked the indoor-outdoor pool, hot tubs, and sauna. It isn't ski-in, ski-out, but the shuttle worked well enough that we left our car behind about half the time. Service was great too. When our TV needed a cord that was missing, the guy who helped us was friendly and thoughtful.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to the issues, as much as they could be. The place itself felt tired and worn out, though. Cabinets were falling apart, the kitchen was barely equipped, and we ran into plumbing, AC, and TV problems. With a huge maintenance project going on too, it just wasn't somewhere we wanted to stay, especially for that kind of money.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the pool and hot tubs were clean and set to a perfect temperature. We had a great week here over spring break, and the shuttle to the slopes was great. I did take off a star because our room was on the top floor of the Cedar building with no elevator, so every trip out meant climbing 85 steps. The steam room also only worked now and then.

The rooms were fantastic and recently updated, and the location was great. We stayed in August '24. I was surprised to find two bedrooms upstairs and just one master bedroom downstairs. In the Douglas Building, there wasn't a washer and dryer in the room, though there were shared ones in the building. I had trouble with them, could only get a few inches of water, and the staff didn't know much about how they worked. The shuttle service was great. The staff were very nice and helpful, and the workout room was dated and not the best, but at least it was there.
