Hampton Inn & Suites Valdosta/Conference Center

After a business trip to town, I stayed here and had a very good experience. The staff were incredibly nice, and the room was lovely. It's a very good place to stay when visiting Valdosta State University. You can hear a little noise from people next door, but it wasn't as bad as you'd normally expect. The bathroom was very nice, and the products were decent. I didn't get to try breakfast, but I liked that it was served late, I believe until 10:00 a.m. Good quality overall. I hope I can stay here again soon when I'm working in town.

The maid at checkout was the only person who was nice to us. Yesterday, when I asked the front desk a question, that person acted like I was interrupting. I greeted the maintenance man and got no response. Another maid growled when I said excuse me to get by. At least one person was sweet.

My three-day stay was good for the price, with a very good breakfast and sweet serving staff. This Hampton Inn is centrally located for everything Valdosta has to offer, and the staff are friendly. The ongoing renovation made the common areas look very dirty and hurt the atmosphere. Coffee left in the lobby after hours was cold and old. My room's microwave and coffee maker were broken, but staff replaced them when I let them know. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I usually find at Hilton properties. Maybe they're getting new beds and mine just hadn't been replaced yet.

The location is convenient and the rooms are a nice size, but housekeeping fell short. We didn't spend much time in the room after checking in, so we only noticed the trash around the bed when we were turning in. I've never had that happen at any hotel. Gross. The place is currently being renovated, and I wish they'd told us when we booked.
