Hampton Inn & Suites Dayton - Vandalia

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was spotless, clean, and comfortable, and I liked the location. The front desk person and the breakfast lady were both knowledgeable, professional, and very nice. They made us feel welcome, and I think they deserve some kind of bonus for that. I’d love to come back. I liked everything about the place.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby, from sit-down restaurants to fast food, and a Walmart is within walking distance for anything you forgot. Bus routes are accessible from the location, too. I stayed Sunday through Wednesday in a double queen room on the second floor. The room was very clean and had plenty of linens. Housekeepers responded quickly when I asked for things. The breakfast and dining staff were friendlier and the food and choices were better than at most hotels. The whole hotel was clean. Staff were courteous and handled questions and concerns with a lot of attention. The side door wouldn’t close all the way, but they fixed it right away so it couldn’t stay open. The elevators were being worked on because of intermittent issues. Hope your stay is as good as mine!

Stacy and the Hampton Inn staff went well beyond accommodating us after our event venue changed at the last minute. They helped create and set up the event, saw it through, and handled the cleanup. Everyone was friendly, and the space worked perfectly. Thanks to Stacy and the whole team!

After driving ten hours from KC MO toward home for Christmas with my wife, my 86-year-old mother-in-law, and our dog, we arrived to find the elevator wasn’t working properly. The front desk employee said it had been that way all week and that they were having trouble getting the elevator service people to come fix it. I couldn’t risk getting stuck on the third floor with my elderly mother-in-law. Hampton didn’t have a first-floor room for us, even though I’m a frequent guest of this chain. We had to get a refund and find somewhere else to stay. It was a huge hassle. For what it’s worth, Fairfield Inn & Suites around the corner was very nice.
