Being able to walk to the Walmart supercenter was a real plus after a long day of driving. We picked up quick food, utensils, and even pool shoes, which made the stop much easier with kids. The room felt newly redone, with modern furniture and lighting that let us keep one area dim while the rest stayed bright. My kids counted 13 switches. The beds and pillows were comfy, the coat and bag rack was handy, and the temperature was easy to adjust. Breakfast was hot, the kids enjoyed the pool, and the place was very clean. It looked like more renovations were underway, possibly to open a gym. We liked it enough on the way out that we stayed at the same one on our return trip.

Our room was spotless and comfortable, and everyone we dealt with was welcoming and helpful. I was glad this hotel was ready for cruel storm.

The check-in employee made inappropriate comments about her body, and the room itself was filthy. There was dirt on the bedspread, dead bugs in several spots, and a fist-sized hole in one curtain. I was given exactly one towel total, with no bath mat, hand towel, or washcloth. I left because of the room and how uncomfortable the employee made me feel. The owner offered a full refund, then backed away from it and said I needed to contact IHG corporate to get the rest of my points back. I'm still trying to get the full refund. I've stayed at hundreds of IHG properties, and this was the worst by far. Don't stay here.

Even with the hotel full, it stayed quiet. The bed was clean and had a soft, springy feel, and I liked the coat and suitcase rack. The pool and hot tub looked clean and inviting. Breakfast was just okay, with limited choices. The desk chair and chaise had lots of food crumbs, which I mentioned to management at checkout. The hallway lights and room doors felt warm and welcoming. The room-darkening shade worked well once I managed to operate it.

The king room had loads of space, and the bed was so comfy! It was clean, the staff were friendly, and having Walmart right next door was great.
