Island Sun Inn & Suites - Historic Venice & Beach Getaway

The bed was so uncomfortable that even a small movement made it sound as if it might collapse. The bathroom had mold, and the water was either hot or scalding. There were cobwebs in the corners and dirty walls, plus rust on the bathroom lights. The ice machine was filthy and rusty too, and the ceilings were separating. There were gaps around the doors. The photos speak for themselves, this place needs an overhaul.

A little diamond in the rough. The rooms have been updated, the Wi-Fi was perfect, and I couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. There's plenty of parking, and next door is a nice little bistro with amazing coffee and breakfast. I'll keep this spot in my rolodex.

The room we had, number 128, was clean, though it could use an update. Some painting and repairs to the walls and edges would make a difference. The property itself is well maintained, and the diner has excellent homemade food and great service.

We'd planned on a week here, but unexpected circumstances cut our stay short. The staff understood and were helpful about it. Our room was clean and well appointed, and housekeeping was friendly, pleasant, and helpful. The pool and courtyard are kept up nicely. We also enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the attached Blu Bistro.
