Ramada by Wyndham Venice Hotel Venezia

Our only complaint after staying here several times is that the pool closes at 9 p.m. We're very happy with the reasonable rates and friendly, helpful staff. Angie at the front desk is amazing. I work in customer service, and it's rare to meet people with the qualities you hope for. With phones ringing, multiple check-ins, and guests needing things, she stayed efficient and calm and made everyone feel their needs mattered. So refreshing.

The online photos seem to show the place in its prime. In person, it looked old and rundown, and the facility needs an overall upgrade and a deep clean in every room. Staff weren't friendly or helpful, and they weren't transparent about extra fees. Our room looked like it hadn't had a deep clean in ages: there was a rusted lamp, an old toilet paper roll, and old stains all over the bathroom walls and door. We didn't have enough towels. When I asked for more, staff told me I needed to wait. I'll never stay here again, and I suggest you don't either. The online pictures of the facility and room are deceiving.

The diner part of our stay was exceptional. The eating areas were well kept, the food was great, and the service was amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and both the cooks and bartenders were fantastic. No complaints about that part at all. The hotel itself was atrocious. I wasn't sure we'd found the right place on arrival because the signage wasn't clear. I wasn't impressed with the look and feel, though it was conveniently close to everything we needed. Most rooms looked outdated and minimal, with stained furniture. Our room wasn't ready, so we waited. They called us up and checked us in, but when we finally got to the room, it hadn't been touched at all, so we had to switch rooms. The second room smelled strongly of weed. We aired it out as best we could, and the smell eventually went away. Do the cleaners smoke weed while they're cleaning rooms? Breakfast costs extra and isn't included. I'd strongly suggest updating the rooms and hiring better cleaning staff. Beware if you stay here.

I was hesitant after seeing some bad reviews, but I’m glad I tried it and would stay again. The staff were friendly, and they made room for me and my little shih tzu. My room was really nice, with a small kitchenette, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of cabinets. The bed was comfortable, and I liked the pool’s sun shelf, all the chairs, and the cozy fire pit seating area. The restaurant had good food and dinner specials on certain nights. The locals seemed to enjoy both the restaurant and pool bar, which says a lot. I rented a bike from a local shop that delivered it to the Legacy Park trail, about four miles away. It was waiting for me there, and I rode the pretty trail and visited several parks. A great spot for a picnic. You can tell they’re working on updates around the hotel.
