Clocktower Inn Ventura

The Clocktower Inn has a charming look and a lovely atrium, and the staff were all friendly with excellent service. It’s about a half-mile walk to the beach and a tenth of a mile to downtown Ventura. Our room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom worked fine, though it could use an update. There were stains in and around the tub, some chipped and patched tiles, and the lighting could be better. I’d stay again.

The location is ideal, and after a pleasant five-day stay, we’re sure we’ll return. The inn feels comfortable and charming even though some paint is peeling and a few hinges are rusty. The staff were wonderful, and they changed the towels and bed linens daily. We usually stay at Marriot, where that doesn’t happen. Breakfast was convenient and nice, with no complaints from us.

I missed my boat and needed somewhere clean, safe, and not too expensive for a couple of days in Ventura. This place exceeded my expectations. I could walk from the train station, and also get to the botanic gardens and Main Street on foot. The room smelled fresh and clean, like it had just been mopped, and even had its own balcony. The woman at the front desk was so nice. I waited in the lobby until the room was ready, and it was available early. Loved it, 10/10, and I’d definitely stay again.

Downtown is a great location, and I like the cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable bed, decent breakfast choices, and fairly reasonable price. The hotel could use some work, like fresh paint, new curtains, and better patio furniture. That usually doesn’t bother me much since I’m generally only here for one night.
