The view was amazing, but that was about the only good thing. The rooms were in disappointing shape, with thick dust on the drapes and dirty, smudged walls, including in the bathroom. The whole hotel smelled like a nursing home. It needs a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint.

There was a lot of history around this beautiful location, even though we came in winter when there wasn’t much going on. The staff were very nice, and our room was clean and comfortable.

The location is the only positive thing I can say. The hotel smelled strongly of mildew and mold as soon as I walked in, and it was extremely hot, like the air conditioning wasn’t on in the middle of August. The cleanliness was nowhere near up to code. The carpet was badly stained, the bathroom walls had splatters that looked like old fecal matter, and the refrigerator was packed with ice and smelled. The linens and pillows smelled unclean. I was pressed for time because of the funeral proceedings that weekend, or I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere. For five days I tried to reach manager Jolene and left countless messages with her staff, but she didn’t call me back. I’ll be contacting OHSA about the hazards, and I think the hotel should be shut down until the issues are fixed. Edit: I spoke with Rory (assistant manager) this morning, and she was unwilling to help with my concerns. Please book somewhere clean and up to code.

This is an older hotel with an updated clarion sign. The hot tub water was green, and the pool seemed to be treated with chlorine tablets alone. The breakfast was horrible, with fake, runny eggs. There was no restaurant and no spa next door. The room had its own AC unit, but when it was off, it smelled like mildew.
